Farmacy Very Cherry Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm Review

Farmacy Very Cherry Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm is a new limited edition version of my favorite, holy grail cleansing balm, the Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm. Late this Summer, Farmacy released a few cherry skincare products this balm is one and Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry is another (haven’t tried that one yet but it’s on my list!).

I was just recently ranting and raving the launch of Huda Beauty Makeup Remover Balm which is fabulous but also, limited edition. It’s such a shame because the formula is amazing.

Granted, Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm is available and part of the brand’s permanent collection but I actually really, really like the Very Cherry Clean scent and would love to see it be added to the permanent collection. It’s kind of sad this is only around for a limited time. I don’t always see the point of launching a skincare product for a limited time.

Oh well!

On with the review…!

Farmacy Very Cherry Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm is $34 just like the original but guess what? You’ll be getting a little more. The original is 3.2 oz in size. It’s not a huge size difference but hey, I’ll take more of these lovely stuff. The balm arrive in a chubby jar and has a spatula that you can use to easily scoop out some of the balm as needed. This is always handy as I dislike touching my products with bare hands.

There are differences between the two formulas. Not huge ones but the ingredients do differ slightly. This version contains Malpighia Emarginata (Acerola) Fruit Extract but does not contain the Echinacea Purpurea Root Extract. This version also contains Moringa Oleifera Seed Extract, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, and Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit Extract. The original formula contains Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, and Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil. So, some of the oils in the formula are different. The color of the balm is also different. It’s a pale translucent pink. And of course, that lovely hard green candy fragrance is gone and replaced with an cherry almond scent. It reminds me of the original Jergens moisturizer scent so not so much a true fruity cherry fragrance but more of a cherry almond one!

Ingredients may have changed every so slightly but the texture remains the same as does the cleansing benefits and method. As with most cleansing balm formulas you’ll use this as dry skin, massage it all over your face (yes, with your makeup on), and add a little water to emulsify and break the formula down, after that you can rinse it clean away! It has a soft sorbet-like texture that quickly goes from balm to oil as soon as it hits your skin. It breaks down and melts right into skin very, very quickly! It’s like getting the best of both the cleansing balm and cleansing oil world in one package! The formula rinses clean away without leaving a residue or any tackiness or stickiness.

It removes makeup very, very easily and didn’t leave my skin tight or dry after use!

All in all, Farmacy Very Cherry Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm is just as good as the original version with the added novelty of a pretty almond cherry fragrance!

If you’re looking for a great and solid performing cleansing balm this is one to check out.

Where to buy

Sephora Farmacy

Farmacy Very Cherry Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm is 3.4 oz, $34, and comes with its own spatula. This formula is available for a limited edition and has a cherry almond fragrance that reminded me of Jergens Moisturizer. The ingredients do differ every so slightly compared to the original version but the texture and the performance was the same (I reference some of the differences in ingredients in the full review above). The cleansing balm has a soft, sorbet-like texture that goes from a balm to an oil upon contact with skin. It’s meant to be used on dry skin and emulsified using water. It does an excellent job easily removing makeup and rinses clean away without leaving a residue behind nor leaving skin dry or tight!

Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Peg-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Polyethylene, Peg-10 Isostearate, Malpighia Emarginata (Acerola) Fruit Extract, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Moringa Oleifera Seed Extract, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit Extract, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Glycerin, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Melia Azadirachta Bark Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Eclipta Prostrata Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Bixa Orellana Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Water/Aqua/Eau, Butylene Glycol, Disodium Phosphate, Phenoxyethanol, Citric Acid
